Division Series. That’s a mediocre batting average for a player and awful replay average for an umpire.Hernandez was overruled on three of four video reviews of his decisions at first base during Boston’s 16-1 rout of the New York Yankees on Monday night.“There were several very close calls at first base tonight Lewis Brinson Jersey , and we are glad that instant replay allowed the umpiring crew to achieve the proper result on all of them,” Major League Baseball said in a statement. The Red Sox, Yankees and fans around the country will see plenty of Hernandez on Tuesday night, when he’s scheduled to work the plate in Game 4.The 57-year-old Hernandez was born in Havana, joined the major league staff in 1993 and worked the World Series in 2002 and 2005. He sued MLB in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati in July 2017, alleging race discrimination and citing his lack of World Series assignments in the past decade and baseball not promoting him to crew chief. The suit alleges MLB chief baseball officer Joe Torre “has a history of animosity towards Hernandez stemming from Torre’s time as manager of the New York Yankees.”MLB moved to dismiss the case, but U.S. District Judge Michael Barrett transferred it to federal court in Manhattan in Sept. 30 without ruling on the motion to dismiss.“Angel was horrible,” Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez said on TBS’ postgame show. “Major League Baseball needs to do something about Angel. It doesn’t matter how many times he sues Major League Baseball. He’s as bad as there is. That’s the main reason we’re sitting here so late.”Hernandez’s troubles started in the second inning, when Didi Gregorius bunted with Giancarlo Stanton on first and the umpire ruled Gregorius beat the throw from pitcher Nathan Eovaldi . The call was overturned, giving New York a runner on second with one out. When Gleyber Torres hit a three-hopper off the mound in the third with the Yankees trailing 3-0, shortstop Xander Bogaerts gloved the ball, continued onto the second-base side of the dirt and threw to first, when Hernandez signaled safe . That http://www.marlinsfanproshop.com/authentic-starlin-castro-jersey , too, was overturned by the replay room umpires, which include Marvin Hudson, Brian Knight, David Rackley and Bill Welke during the Division Series.New York trailed 10-0 in the fourth when Luke Voit hit a comebacker off the bare hand of Eovaldi, and Hernandez signaled Voit beat the throw from second baseman Brock Holt for an infield hit . That was upheld by the replay room umpires.Stanton then singled to put runners at the corners, and Gregorius grounded to Holt. The second baseman made a backhand flip to Bogaerts covering second for a forceout, and Bogaerts threw to first, where Hernandez signaled out for a double play . That led to Hernandez’s third reversal.Expanded video review in the major leagues began in 2014.Hernandez has had first-base calls overturned in 14 of 18 video reviews during the last three regular seasons, according to Sports Info Solutions, and his 78 percent overturn rate was above the 60 percent overall figure for first-base calls during that span, the company said.“The guy’s had a long career and a good career. You know he’s going to get it right,” Voit said. “It happens J. T. Realmuto Jersey , man. I mean, so many bang-bang plays consistently. You get it, and you just hope he makes the right calls.”Former Yankees catcher John Flaherty took issue with Hernandez on the postgame broadcast of the Yankees’ YES Network.“I think back to the replay of the Luke Voit play at first base, that Angel Hernandez actually got right. And when he came back, next to Voit, he made a little comment to him and smiled a little bit, almost like, you know, ‘I got one right,'” Flaherty said. “It’s not that funny, Angel. These are playoff games. These are big deals. And replay bails him out — the play eventually is going to be right. But you got to be thinking at first base, maybe take a little more pride in what you’re doing.” SEATTLE (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen hopes doctors will clear him to return to pitching sometime next week.Jansen threw about 20 pitches during a bullpen session Friday, continuing his light workload after being placed on the disabled list last week with an irregular heartbeat. Jansen said he feels good and is hopeful his physicians will clear him to return to the Dodgers bullpen when they meet Monday. The 30-year-old Jansen said earlier this week it’s likely he’ll need another ablation procedure on his heart after the season — the right-hander had a similar operation in 2012. When he was placed on the disabled list last week http://www.marlinsfanproshop.com/authentic-starlin-castro-jersey , it was projected Jansen would miss four to six weeks. Jansen said he’s had no symptoms or reactions to medication in the past week.“I hope they say (I’m) ready to go. I’ve got my fingers crossed about Monday,” Jansen said. “We’ll see if that happens. That would be great so I can come back and help us get back in the race and go where we want to go.”Jansen has experienced several episodes with his heart condition in the past. He was prescribed blood thinners in 2011 and missed a month, then missed three weeks the following season with a similar issue. He said his latest incident occurred at the team hotel in Denver. After breakfast, he felt his heart begin to quiver and eventually called 911. Jansen was transported to a hospital, where he was shocked back into a normal heart rate.Jansen has 32 saves, tied with Colorado’s Wade Davis for the National League lead. Los Angeles began the day a game behind first-place Arizona in the NL West.Without their star closer, the Dodgers’ bullpen had lost three consecutive games.“It’s just bad for me not being out there,” he said. “You feel great, you feel like you can play but that blood thinner medicine holds you back. That’s why I say it’s bad. It’s frustrating. I want to be out there every single time to help our guys. … It’s not a fun time for me right now.”

on Friday as small road favorites at sportsbooks in a battle between two American League teams that have already clinched their respective divisions. The Red Sox won the AL East for the second year in a row on Thursday with an 11-6 road victory against the New York Yankees Paul Goldschmidt Jersey , while the Indians have already taken home their third consecutive AL Central title. MLB betting line: The Red Sox opened as -130 favorites (wager $130 to win $100); the total is at eight runs, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. Why the Red Sox can pay on the MLB linesBoston will be guarding against a potential letdown here in a possible playoff preview with ace Chris Sale (12-4, 1.92 ERA) on the mound. The 29-year-old went just three innings in his last outing on Sunday versus the New York Mets, allowing one hit with no walks and one strikeout on 42 pitches. The Red Sox are trying to squeeze a couple more starts out of Sale before the end of the regular season, and he is reportedly hoping to throw 65 pitches at Cleveland. If they can get five innings from the southpaw, they will have a shot to win. Why the Indians can pay on the MLB linesThe Indians will send their AL Cy Young candidate Trevor Bauer (12-6, 2.22 ERA) to the hill opposite Sale, and he will be coming off the disabled list. The 27-year-old suffered a lower leg fracture in mid-August and is only expected to throw a couple innings, with Shane Bieber (10-4 Richie Ashburn Jersey , 4.50 ERA) relieving him and likely pitching a majority of the game for Cleveland.Like Boston with Sale, Cleveland wants Bauer to simply see some game action in preparation for the playoffs, as his last start took place on August 11. He is 5-0 in his last eight outings, while Bieber has split his previous four. Smart betting pickThese teams do not have much to play for in this spot, as they wouldn't meet in the postseason until the AL Championship Series if both advance that far. That said, each of the starting pitchers will be limited, so do not expect them to play a major role in determining the final outcome. The over is 3-1-1 in the past five meetings, though, according to the OddsShark MLB Database, and the best bet is that trend continuing.MLB betting trendsThe total has gone over in four of Boston's last six games on the road.Boston is 7-3 in its last 10 games.Cleveland is 11-4 in its last 15 games when playing at home against Boston. All MLB odds and betting trends according to Bleacher Report's official odds partner, OddsShark. Whether it was good or bad for you as an individual or as a team, it means absolutely nothing. It doesn’t matter http://www.philliesfanproshop.com/authentic-pat-neshek-jersey ,” Yelich said. “We all start with a clean slate. It’s all what are you going to do in 2019 to help the Brewers win.”Even for the young slugging outfielder who was the NL MVP after nearly winning the Triple Crown (.326, 36 homers, 110 RBIs) in his first season with the Brewers.Milwaukee’s first full-squad workout is Tuesday, four months after losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7 of the NL Championship Series. The Brewers made a late-September surge to force a Game 163 tiebreaker, beat the Chicago Cubs for their first NL Central title since 2011 and swept Colorado in the NL Division Series.“It was a little shorter offseason, not much time for vacation,” starter Jhoulys Chacin said. “My vacation was being in the playoffs. That was my time to go on vacation in October. That was perfect. We’ll take that every year.”The core of the Brewers is still pretty much intact from last season, including Yelich, Chacin, speedy center fielder Lorenzo Cain, 35-homer first baseman Jesus Aguilar and hard-throwing All-Star reliever Josh Hader.“As a team, you control your own destiny when you have the kind of talent we do here http://www.philliesfanproshop.com/authentic-pat-neshek-jersey ,” Yelich said. “You just want to prove that it wasn’t a fluke and that you can do it again. And I think that’s the drive, that’s the motivation going into the season.”Catcher Yasmani Grandal, a free agent addition who was with the Dodgers, is the most notable addition. Right-hander Jimmy Nelson could help the rotation after missing last season because of right shoulder surgery.Manager Craig Counsell said a new season means a new team that hasn’t done anything yet.“This is a brand new team with players in different places in their lives, and different places in their careers, different interactions,” Counsell said. “I compared it to soup last year. We’re going to make the soup again. Some of the ingredients are the same, but there are some different ingredients in that room, and so it’s not the same.”When someone asked Counsell about the idea that it’s harder to do something again, the fifth-year manager reiterated what he had already said while sitting in his office just outside the new clubhouse that was part of a $60 million renovation to their spring training complex.“I don’t think it matters … That’s my point, is what have we done,” he said. “This group hasn’t done it.”The Brewers haven’t been to the playoffs in consecutive seasons since 1981-82 with Robin Yount. They lost to St. Louis in a seven-game World Series in 1982.Chacin Aaron Altherr Jersey , who was 15-8 with a 3.50 ERA in 35 regular season starts, said while the Brewers had a really good season, it hurt missing out on the World Series.“You want to be in that position again, and win that game,” he said.Hader said that just boosts the motivation going into this season.“Just the accomplishments that us as a whole accomplished was unbelievable,” said the 24-year-old, whose 143 strikeouts in 81 1/3 innings last season set a major league record for a left-handed reliever. “You feed off that, you got the taste of what to get there felt like. But it’s not the whole cake. We’ve still got to finish.”

.Angels manager Mike Scioscia announced Thursday the Japanese rookie sensation will start for Los Angeles on Sunday night for the first time since spraining the ulnar collateral ligament in his right pitching elbow nearly three months ago.Ohtani will make his return on national television against the defending World Series champion Houston Astros. Ohtani has thrown up to 50 pitches in the bullpen as he attempts to work back from the UCL injury that many feared might require Tommy John surgery and keep him out of action through the 2019 season. He’ll be on a limited pitch count.“We will monitor that very closely Lenny Dykstra Jersey ,” Scioscia said. “We will have a range, but we are going to wait and talk internally to see what he is going to be able to do and see how the game is going.”Ohtani was diagnosed following a start on June 6 and has been treated with a platelet-rich plasma injection and an injection of stem cells. He returned to hitting in early July and has 15 home runs and an .897 OPS as a part-time designated hitter. He’s been slowly working back on the mound and could make as many as five starts the rest of the season if the Angels continue to use him once per week, as they were prior to the injury.“This is going to be fluid,” Scioscia said. “This is going to be directed from a lot of input from our medical staff. From how he’s evaluated after every outing, we will see the frequency he’s going to get out more.”Scioscia added that Ohtani would likely not hit the day before or after pitching, as had been the practice before his injury.Ohtani was excellent over nine starts before getting hurt, going 4-1 with a 3.10 ERA.“Very excited,” Scioscia said about seeing Ohtani back on the mound, “but obviously, I don’t know if we could put those expectations that we had for Shohei when he really hit stride, have those expectations what he’s going to come out and do for Sunday. Hopefully http://www.philliesfanproshop.com/authentic-pat-neshek-jersey , he’s going to get back to that.”The Angels want to determine as soon as possible if Ohtani’s UCL will require surgery. If he waits to test the elbow in spring training next year and still needs Tommy John surgery, he would likely miss time during the 2020 season as well. DENVER (AP) — Matt Holliday wore cleats from 2007. The Coors Field mojo almost felt straight from that decade, too. When Colorado made a charge to its only World Series appearance, it was behind late-season wins just like the dramatic one the Rockies pulled out on this throwback Thursday. Ian Desmond hit a two-run, two-out homer in the ninth inning, and the Rockies beat the San Diego Padres 4-3 in the return of the 38-year-old outfielder Holliday.“When something special is happening, you find ways to win games,” said Holliday, who wore a pair of black spikes that the clubhouse manager dug out of storage from ’07 since Holliday had only a gray pair. “Those are important wins and a huge swing by Ian.”Desmond lined an 88-mph splitter from reliever Kirby Yates (4-3) over the fence in left after Trevor Story singled earlier in the ninth and stole second. It was Desmond’s second career walk-off homer. His other was May 2, 2012, against Arizona.“It felt good. It felt good to win the series Carlos Santana Jersey ,” Desmond said. “Winning a series is really important this time of year.”Yates said the pitch to Desmond was one that didn’t “have any bite to it.”“I got him the other night,” Yates said. “He got me today.”Holliday was in Colorado’s starting lineup for the first time in a decade after having his contract selected from Triple-A Albuquerque before the game. He finished 0 for 3 — he was lifted for a defensive replacement in the seventh — but had a long drive in the fifth that he thought was gone. He even went into a little hop.“I remembered it was a tornado blowing in from left field,” Holliday cracked. “I hit that good.”The Rockies overcame a baserunning blunder early and a costly error late to take two of three games from the Padres and move within one game of first-place Arizona in the NL West.Jose Pirela came through with a bases-loaded, one-out hit up the middle off reliever Bryan Shaw to give the Padres a 3-2 lead. It was just after Story misplayed a slow roller.Chris Rusin (1-2) worked a scoreless ninth to pick up the win.Kyle Freeland turned in a solid outing by allowing two runs over 6 1/3 innings in the no-decision. The 25-year-old Denver native was elated to take the field with Holliday.“That’s a guy I looked up to big time, when I was in middle school and high school,” Freeland said.On a blustery day, Joey Lucchesi kept the Rockies in check for six innings. The left-hander allowed two runs and struck out six. His only major mistake was allowing a solo homer to David Dahl.Lucchesi worked his way out of a messy situation in the third courtesy of a mistake on the bases by the Rockies. With no outs and runners on first and third, Dahl broke for home on Freeland’s bunt, only to be thrown out. Charlie Blackmon then hit into a double play to end the threat. It was an emotional day for Holliday, who returned to where his career began. The team played the song “Holiday Road” from “National Lampoon’s Vacation” before the game. He also received a standing ovation before his first at-bat — a groundout to second.Holliday hasn’t played in the majors since last season with the New York Yankees. He suited up the first five seasons of his career for Colorado, hitting .290 as a rookie in 2004 and helping lead the Rockies to their only World Series appearance in 2007.“I’m grateful to be back http://www.philliesfanproshop.com/authentic-pat-neshek-jersey ,” said Holliday, who hit .319 with 128 homers for Colorado from 2004-08.TRAINER’S ROOMPadres: INF Christian Villanueva was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a fractured right middle finger. INF Carlos Asuaje was recalled from Triple-A El Paso.MYERS UPDATESan Diego infielder Wil Myers wasn’t in the lineup after suffering a cut on his nose the day before. He was working on grounders at third during batting practice when a ball hit him. He entered as a pinch-hitter in the seventh and drew a walk. He hopes to play Friday.“Hopefully get back over at third again and pretend like it never happened,” Myers said.UP NEXTPadres: Open a three-game series Friday in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. LHP Clayton Richard (7-10, 5.11 ERA) goes for the Padres and LHP Rich Hill (5-4, 3.73) for the Dodgers.Rockies: RHP Antonio Senzatela (4-3, 4.47) takes the mound Friday when the Rockies start a three-game series versus St. Louis. The Cardinals will throw RHP Miles Mikolas (13-3, 2.80).

L.J. Fort Authentic Vince Williams Jersey , Morgan Burnett and Darrius Heyward-Bey all inactive for Steelers vs. Bengals With just one exception, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ list of inactive players for Week 6 looks exactly the same as it did in Week 5. While the injured L.J. Fort replaces the now healthy Vince Williams, Darrius Heyward-Bey misses his second game of the year and Morgan Burnett is sidelined for the fourth week in a row. Justin Hunter gets another chance to suit up for a game with Heyward-Bey sitting out, but for the rest of the regular names on the inactive report Youth Bud Dupree Jersey , it is business as usual this Sunday. Marcus Allen and Mason Rudolph are still waiting for their first opportunity to dress on game day and L.T. Walton has only been active for a game once this season. Zach Banner has been active on just two occasions. Barring injury, none of these names are expected to be seen in uniform on Sunday anytime soon. Recently promoted cornerback Brian Allen keeps his place on the gameday in only his second week since being signed from the practice squad. The Cincinnati Bengals list of inactives for Week 6:Steelers vs. Chiefs Week 2: 1st quarter in-game update The Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs squared off at Heinz Field in Week 2 of NFL regular season action, and the home team was looking to get the nasty taste of a Browns tie out of their mouths while the visiting team was looking to add on to their offensive output last week vs. the Chargers. On a picturesque day, the Steelers started with the football to open the game http://www.steelersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jesse-james-jersey , but were forced to punt on three-and-out. On Jordan Berry’s first action of the game, while trying to pin Tyreek Hill to the sideline, the up-man DeAndre Thomas caught the ball and tight-roped the sideline getting the Chiefs to the Steelers’ 10-yard line. Two plays later the chiefs cashed in with Patrick Mahomes finding Chris Conley in the back of the endzone for the touchdown.Another Steelers’ three-and-out set up the Chiefs to add to their lead. Mahomes shredded the Steelers’ secondary en route to a bullet pass to Travis Kelce for the Chiefs touchdown. Before you could blink, the Chiefs were up 14-0 with 9:05 left in the first quarter. It took until their third series Terrell Edmunds Jersey , but Pittsburgh was finally able to muster a few first downs and moved into field goal range with big catches by both James Conner and Antonio Brown. However, the Chris Boswell 49-yard field goal sailed wide left keeping the score 14-0. It was Boswell’s second missed field goal of the young regular season. With great field position after Boswell’s miss, the Chiefs weren’t about to pack up the high-flying offense. It took just a handful of plays for Kansas City to extend their lead. This time it wasn’t Kelce doing the damage, but Kareem Hunt who abused Terrell Edmunds one-on-one to give the Chiefs a 21-0 lead with 2:24 still left in the first quarter. The Steelers have the football around mid-field to end the first quarter. Hill http://www.steelersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-antonio-brown-jersey , a predominantly Jewish neighborhood just to the east of Pittsburgh. A gunman, radicalized by hate and anti-semitism and armed with a semi-automatic rifle along with three handguns, entered the Tree of Life synagogue and shot over a dozen attendees, killing Jerry Rabinowitz, Cecil and David Rosenthal, Rose Mallinger, Bernice and Sylvan Simon, Daniel Stein, Joyce Fienberg, Richard Gottfried, Melvin Wax, and Irving Younger in cold blood. One of the victims was a Holocaust survivor, man. This is awful. More than a million people viewed this website last month. We’re one of the most popular team blogs on the SB Nation network, and that’s a testament not to the quality of the writing and analysis here (though the writing and analysis done by my colleagues here is exceptional), but to the tangible online community that you, the readers, have created. Now, I know that my irreverent musings are not generating millions of page views each month, but the Stock Report seems to be a fairly well-read blog, so I want to ask you, this online community, to assist Pittsburgh, my community, in its time of need. Please consider donating to the Tree of Life victims fund, the official GoFundMe for which can be found here. Thank you. ANYWAY...Stock up: Offensive efficiency and balanceSunday’s proceedings did not get off to a great start. The Steelers failed to convert a single first down on their first three drives, and on the second drive Ben Roethlisberger tossed a hilariously ill-advised pass in the general vicinity of JuJu Smith-Schuster Stephon Tuitt Jersey , only to see said pass carom off some person’s extremity into Derrick Kindred’s awaiting arms. It definitely felt like it was going to be one of those games. Fortunately, the aforementioned interception represented thenadir for the offense (not including whatever happened with Roosevelt Nix and Ryan Switzer on that punt, but we’ll get there). Roethlisberger was sharp, completing 24 passes and throwing a pair of touchdowns to Antonio Brown, thereby further demonstrating that their near telepathic connection is stronger than ever, and James Conner’s multifaceted skillset was on full display, as he trucked, dodged, eluded, and stiff-armed his way to more than 200 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. I went to the game Sunday, and I don’t know if this is a regular thing, but midway through the third quarter a pocket of fans near the south end-zone starting chanting Conner’s name. Shortly thereafter, a deafening chorus of “Conner” chants echoed throughout the entire stadium. It was really neat. All told, the offense converted six of its 13 third-down attempts (six of 10 if you’re inclined to look the other way on those three stalled drives to start the game), generated more than 400 yards (they ran 68 plays and amassed 421 yards; we were sooooo close to the magic numbers, you guys), and controlled the time of possession. More impressively, their run/pass splits were about as good as you can hope for from a professional football team. If they can maintain that level of balance moving forward, they’ll be a difficult unit to slow down, let alone stop. Stock up: The secondaryWho’d’ve thunk that parking Artie Burns on the bench would’ve alleviated the secondary’s woes? Oh, that’s right, everyone. Listen. It isn’t like Coty Sensabaugh, Burns’s “replacement”, played like vintage Darrelle Revis and it isn’t like Cleveland’s passing attack is as potent as, say, Kansas City’s. Baker Mayfield’s the best quarterback the Browns have had on their roster since Authentic Cameron Heyward Jersey , like, Otto Graham, or something, but he’s still a rookie and he’s still surrounded by what is still a supremely underwhelming supporting cast. Still, holding a professional quarterback to 180 passing yards and two touchdowns—one of which was the trashiest and most pungent garbage-time touchdown you can ever hope to see—on 36 attempts is a commendable feat regardless of circumstances and it’s something upon which the Steelers can build. Also, Joe Haden, already the best cornerback in NFL history, made one of the best interceptions you will ever see a defensive back make. On the eighth play of Cleveland’s ensuing series after Roethlisberger connected with Brown on an unscripted play for a 43-yard touchdown strike, Mayfield said “screw it” and hucked a bomb to Damion Ratley. Haden tracked it the whole way, high-pointing the pass near the opposing sideline and tapping both feet inbounds. I was in line for food and had to watch it on TV. That—getting stuck in line because I couldn’t wait until halftime to shovel food into my stupid mouth and failing to witness an electric play in person—is the worst. I’m very thankful for closed circuit game-feeds. God bless those of you who attended games before concession stand TVs were a thing. So, yeah, it was a good interception. He dropped a pair of should-be picks against the Bengals in Pittsburgh’s last game, so it was nice to see him make arguably the play of the game; against his old team, no less. Of course, one of primary factors in guiding the secondary’s success was...Stock up: The pass rushThe Steelers only picked up a pair of sacks, but their pass rushers were regularly in and around Mayfield’s headspace, causing many a hurried throw. In fact, the pass rush was responsible for putting some points on the board, as the Steelers were awarded a safety after Browns tackle Desmond Harrison attempted to remove Bud Dupree’s head from his spinal cord. Stock down: CommunicationFollowing the safety, there seemed to be some confusion Roosevelt Nix and Ryan Switzer during the requisite punt. Specifically, Nix called for a fair catch, which led Switzer to back away from the ball’s charted course and allow it to hit the ground. With no Steelers in sight to pounce on the now-loose ball, a caravan of Browns recovered it, after which they were awarded possession. Switzer apparently was not aware that safety punts not treated like regular punts, but like kickoffs, wherein that a ball is live until it’s recovered and downed by the kicking team. I was also not aware of this. Unlike Switzer Youth Ramon Foster Jersey , though, I am not paid to know this rule, so it would’ve been nice for him to, ya know, maybe clarify that point with the coaching staff before heading on field. Special teams coordinator Danny Smith and head coach Mike Tomlin are not absolved of blamed in this matter, as the onus to inform personnel of complexities such as that is kinda on them. When the Pittsburgh Steelers selected JuJu Smith-Schuster out of USC in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, many simply said, “Who?”Fast forward to 2018 and Smith-Schuster has taken the Steelers, and their large fan base, by storm. The 21 year-old receiver is charismatic, full of energy and is the perfect example of how the game of football can still be fun, even at the highest level. With Smith-Schuster becoming more of a household name, he is becoming known for more than just his video game skills, and social media status, but for his play on the field. Heading into the team’s Week 7 bye week, Smith-Schuster has caught 42 passes for 561 yards and two touchdowns, and is on pace to not only out-gain Antonio Brown in terms of receiving yards, but to surpass the 1,000 yard plateau he failed to reach as a rookie (917 yards). It is rare you see Smith-Schuster not doing a Fortnite dance, celebrating a touchdown or showing off his dog on social media, but the budding star sat down with ESPN’s Stephan A. Smith for a very good interview about his thoughts on his game, as well as the Steelers’ future in 2018.Check out the interview below and see where Smith-Schuster talks about how he fully expected to burst onto the scene with the black-and-gold, as well as who he would rather play in the playoffs — the Chiefs or the Patriots. Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse — a survey of fans across the NFL http://www.redskinscheapstore.com/morgan-moses-jersey-cheap , powered by SurveyMonkey. Each week, we send 32 polls to 100+ plugged in fans from each team. Redskins fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse. How confident are you in the direction of the team? Last week: 76 percent confidenceThis can’t be surprising to anyone...leaguewide, really. By many metrics we have seen this week, the Redskins played one of the most solid games—if not THE most solid game—of football seen in week one. I know I was feeling pretty confident last week already http://www.redskinscheapstore.com/mason-foster-jersey-cheap , and that performance against Arizona sent me a notch higher. I am extremely impressed with the 0% of fans that are “not confident.” We are a decisive bunch! Will the Redskins win or lose in Week 2?Odds: Redskins are 6-point favoritesHogs Haven FanPulse: Redskins by 9Stampede Blue FanPulse: Colts by 2Ummmmmmm...my math says that is an 11-point spread between fanbases. Hahaha...Vegas would love us. The Colts fans are a solid eight points more optimistic than the oddsmakers, while Redskins fans are just feeling about a field goal better than sportsbooks. Opponents matter in this discussion. The Bengals are now 2-0, having toppled both Indianapolis and Baltimore (last night). The Redskins beat down a Cardinals team that not many people have a lot of faith in (I wonder what their fan confidence number is this week). I eagerly await the week where these values converge.Other than QB, what is most valuable to an NFL offense? Tight end? I mean, I get that the elite tight ends take over games http://www.redskinscheapstore.com/deshazor-everett-jersey-cheap , but 5% of you voted tight end over...any of the other choices? I went left tackle here, while 40% split your vote between running back and wide receiver. It is certainly the case in the league today where a running back or wide receiver on a given team might be more valuable to that team than its left tackle, but that team is not the Redskins. It appears this result is leaguewide, so I am confident that Redskins fans were pretty unanimous on this one. Redskins 2019 OpponentsHome Away The NFL playoffs begin on Saturday, starting the final part of the 2018-2019 season. The Washington Redskins will be sitting at home this year for many different reasons (choose your own narrative!). The Redskins finished with a 7-9 record http://www.redskinscheapstore.com/shawn-lauvao-jersey-cheap , and missed the playoffs for the 3rd straight season after winning the division in 2015, and going one and done in the postseason.NFL schedules are set from year to year due to a rotating schedule, and all the teams are known except for two for years in advance. The Redskins play two divisions this year, the NFC North and the AFC East. Washington plays the Packers for the 2nd year in a row when they travel to Green Bay. They will also go up north to play their old friend Kirk Cousins and the Vikings. The Redskins finished 3rd in their division and will play the 3rd place finishers from the NFC South(Carolina Panthers) and NFC West(San Francisco 49ers) in 2019. The NFC East didn’t turn out the way most people expected it this year. The Redskins finished 2-4 in the division which is not good, and only a 1 game improvement over last year. The Giants disappointed again. The Eagles had an up and down season http://www.redskinscheapstore.com/matthew-ioannidis-jersey-cheap , but were able to get into the playoffs when Nick Foles took over. The Cowboys somehow managed to rise to the top of the steaming pile that was the NFC East. The Redskins have a lot of work to do to get back to the playoffs next year, and winning in the division has to be their top priority(besides figuring out that whole QB thing). Clearance NFL Jerseys

Contest! We began a long journey together back on the 30th of April http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/alex-smith-jersey-authentic , when the first UDFA profile of 2018 was published, featuring Simmie Cobbs Jr., who is now one of 10 players on the Redskins Practice Squad.Over the course of the next 4 weeks, 16 more UDFA profiles were done, for a total of 17, with the final one in the series being Darvin Kidsy. But this is not the kind of site where we just toss out some profiles and walk away.I see my mission at Hogs Haven to be sure that this motley crew of likely future warehousemen and used car salesmen get more than just their 15 minutes in the sun.On the 1st of June, we posted an article looking at which of these guys had experience as kick and punt returners.Fearing that the awareness of the UDFA players might be fading, and wanting to get as much milage as possible out of the profiles posted in May, I put up three summary articles ahead of training camp:A review of UDFA wide receivers at training campAnother look at non-WR UDFA offensive players at training campA review of UDFA defensive players at training campBut we didn’t stop there.Following the second preseason game, we published an article re-visiting the punt & kick returner competition in an effort to see if it would give any insight to training camp battles (personally, I think it did exactly that).A lot of these players got another look in the review of the WR training camp battle that we published on the 21st of August.Eventually, of course, the preseaon had to end, and I knew I couldn’t lap at the teat of the UDFA milk supply forever. To put a bow on it all, we published the 2nd annual roster prediction contest aimed at successfully predicting the fates of late round draft picks and UDFAs prior to the final cut to 53 players.Incredibly, 35 readers decided to take a shot at the contest, which involved predicting the fates of 20 players — 6 late round draft picks and 14 UDFAs.Among the entrants were Gibbs4potus, who did the film breakdowns for the UDFA profiles this year, and Redspin, the winner of the inaugural 2017 Roster Prediction Contest, who has the honor, in perpetuity, of listing his victory in his sig line:Entrants had to predict one of three outcomes for each player: He made the team (the final 53-man roster)He was put onto the Redskins practice squad; orHe was cutEntrants earned points for correct predictions, but were penalized for incorrect predictions by losing points. The winning entry was to be determined by looking at the status of the 20 players at 5pm EDT on Thursday, 6 September 2018.Here’s what actually happened to the 20 players in question:Click here to see the entire Redskins roster http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/jonathan-allen-jersey-authentic , practice squad and reserve lists. Our crack team of analysts has now completed the process of tabulating the results, and we are ready to share them with the world.and the winner is...Juve Duran!Juve topped the table by scoring 89 points.Interestingly, the contest was initially a tie between two entrants, Juve Duran and HTTR86, who were tied at the time of initial cutdowns, with 81 points each. But when J.P. Holtz was brought back to the Redskins Practice Squad a fewdays after the roster was initially set on Saturday, but well ahead of the Thursday deadline, that pushed Juve Duran, who had predicted Holtz on the practice squad, into sole possession of 1st place!Congratulations to Juve Duran on his win, and to the rest of the entrants on well-thought out and high-scoring entries. The average score earned by our 35 entrants was 63.7 points, which is a testament to a fan base who is extremely knowledgeable about the relative unknowns at the bottom of the Redskins roster in 2018.Truly arcane knowledge!Juve, in fact, missed on only 4 of his 20 predictions, meaning that he hit on 16 correctly — an 80% hit rate!In fact, he correctly predicted every player who made the team, except for Casey Dunn, and correctly predicted the fate of every player who eventually made the Practice Squad. It was a truly impressive feat of prediction that indicates that psychic traits likely run in Juve’s family. As a reward for this impressive feat of prognostication, Juve Duran will, in perpetuity, be entitled to add the following claim to his signature line:“Roster Contest Champion, 2018”Let it be known in every corner of the land, from this day forth, that Juve Duran is the Seer of Seers, Sage of Sages http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/jordan-reed-jersey-authentic , Prognosticator of Prognosticators, and Roster Prophet Extraordinaire! Here is the full list of entrants with their final scores*** Please note that this list was updated about 6 hours after the post was initially published when KyleSmithforGM pointed out a flaw in my score calculation. There is always a balance in large, single-use spreadsheets unlikely to have a lot of changes that needs to be considered. Should it be filled with complex formulas that calculate scores automatically, or should it simply be a ‘dumb’ table, where scores are manually calculated and entered? The first takes a lot of time to design complex formulas that will probably never be needed. The latter saves time in constructing the sheet, but opens the door wider to the possibility of human error at the time of input. In the end, I opted for a compromise.Since almost everyone had put all the draft picks on the team, I decided to enter those scores manually, since it was mostly a copy & paste job, and was unlikely to see much change.I put limited formulas into the UDFA slots, where the score was calculated simply on whether the prediction matched the player’s status. When Hotz’s status changed, I updated him from Cut to PS, and all the scores changed as expected. What I forgot about was that I had written limited formulas that made only one test in an either/or possibility, which took only a moment to write; I hadn’t written ‘nested’ if/then condition tests, which seemed needlessly complex for this spreadsheet. When I changed Holtz’s status from Cut to PS, I had to go to the formula and change the condition being tested from Cut to PS, which I forgot to do.The result was that I got the right winner, but I underestimated his score, and I underestimated the score of everyone who didn’t choose “team” for Holtz. The revised list of scores below reflects the correction to that formula, and the resulting increase in most entrants’ final scores. Thanks to KyleSmithforGM for pointing out the mistake quickly so I was able to correct it and show the increased level of the collective wisdom of the Hogs Haven fan base.Although I feel quite confident that the scores should now accurately reflect everyone’s entry results accurately, if anyone spots another error, please let me know and I will endeavor to correct it immediately or sooner.Apologies for the spreadsheet scoring mistake, and — perhaps more importantly — for spelling GAL Gadot’s name wrong in the poll question.I want to thank everyone who participated.I hope everyone enjoyed the contest and will return next year when we will update the prize to be even bigger and better by changing the year to 2019!Enjoy the Cardinals game, and HTTR!!! OffenseNate Stanley, QBSchool: Iowa | Conference: BIG 10College Experience: Junior | Age: 21?Height / Weight: 6-4 / 242 lbsNate Stanley is a QB that doesn’t get the recognition he should. If I had to make a “bold” prediction I think Stanley will be the Cody Kessler of this draft if he decides to come out. This is no comparison of the two players skill but I think Stanley would get selected much higher than people expect. He somewhat quietly has put up good numbers so far in the BIG 10. Stanley will definitely tick the measurables box but if he doesn’t improve greatly from now till when he entires the draft questions about his accuracy will come up. Stanley had a monster game against Indiana this past weekend. He went 21/33for 320 yards 6 TDs and 1 INT. He is definitely an QB to keep an eye on going forward considering that kind of production (even if against Indiana). He’s a bigger QB and is strong stout and quite mobile. Bring on the Big Ben comparisons!Miles Sanders http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/josh-norman-jersey-authentic , RBSchool: Penn State | Conference: BIG 10College Experience: Junior | Age: 21?Height / Weight: 5-11 / 207 lbsThough the Nittany Lions were upset Miles Sanders had a great game against Michigan State. If Sanders can keep up the production he’s had thus far there is no question that Penn State is developing an impressive pipeline at the running back position and that he could be in the mix of some of the early selections at the position. Sanders is not his predecessor Saquon Barkley but he emulated a few of his signature moves this game. Sanders simply made Michigan State defenders look silly. He has been the work horse for this Penn State team and he is an exciting player to watch. As you can see he has an impressive blend of speed elusiveness and balance. He finished this game with 17 carries for 162 yards and a TD.Jace Sternberger, TESchool: Texas A&M | Conference: SECCollege Experience: Junior | Age: 21?Height / Weight: 6-4 / 250 lbsSternberger is probably the best pass catching tight end in college football. He has been such a weapon for the Aggies this year and he has reinvigorated his career after transferring from Kansas. He’s is Texas A&M’s leading receiver in yards, catches, and touchdowns he also leads the NCAA in receiving yards by a TE at this point. He moves like a big wide receiver and causes so much damage over the middle. He plays with an impressive amount of effort and is obviously a much depended on target for his QB. You know just a few months ago there were questions about Jordan Reed’s health and Vernon Davis’ age. If the Redskins move on from either after this year should they take a look at Sternberger? He finished this game against South Carolina with 7 catches for 145 yards and a TD. Xavier Ubosi, WRSchool: UAB | Conference: CUSACollege Experience: Senior | Age: 22?Height / Weight: 6-3 / 215 lbsUbosi is a big bodied deep threat for UAB. It doesn’t look like he does much other than run go routes and deep posts but he does it quite well. If UAB had better QB play he would likely be producing even more. Regardless is averaging an impressive 33 yards per catch average and he has the ability not only to stretch the field but he has the physicality to out muscle DBs in his way. He reminds me a bit of a poor mans Cameron Sutton. Many Redskins fans are upset with Josh Doctson and the team very well may move on from him after next season. The Redskins have a few options on the roster than have size but none (outside of Robert Davis) that I would consider a true deep/redzone threat. Ubosi has that skill set and likely will be available on day 3 of the draft. He dominated Rice this past weekend and finished the game with 4 catches for 196 yards and 2 TDs. DefenseChristian Miller, LBSchool: Alabama | Conference: SECCollege Experience: RS Senior | Age: 22?Height / Weight: 6-4 / 244 lbsThe Redskins have spent a good amount of resources these past couple years on defensive linemen and linebackers from Alabama. Let’s have another and consider drafting Christian Miller. Miller stepped into the starting role in the middle of the Alabama defense after Rashaan Evans and our own Shaun Dion Hamilton were drafted. Miller is having a good season so far and he is a particularly dangerous pass rusher. He is consistently putting the QB in tough positions and is among the top pass rushing inside linebackers in the country in production as he’s registered 7 TFLs and 4.5 sacks already on the year. He’s an exciting player to watch and he clearly has good athleticism. I’ll watch him some more to gauge his coverage abilities but I like what I see thus far. Miller was a nightmare for LSU’s QB this past game as he racked up hurry after hurry. Those wont appear on the stat sheet but he had 3 tackles, 1.5 for loss, and a pass defended this game.Sutton Smith, EDGE/LBSchool: Northern Illinois | Conference: Mid American College Experience: RS Junior | Age: 22?Height / Weight: 6-1 / 237 lbsThere are players you notice while watching college football who you just know are going to be good. Sometimes you want to write about them but their isn’t enough supporting material to reference and back up your opinion with. Sometimes in their RS Junior year they start to blow up and you wish they would remain a secret. I just described Sutton Smith. Smith logged 30 TFLs and 14 sacks last season. He is on pace to match those numbers again this year. Smith causes havoc in the Mid American conference rushing off the edge. He certainly plays with good speed in fluidity but he almost certain will be moved to OLB in the NFL due to his size. That should be no problem for him in my opinion. He probably is much better suited to play in a 4-3 defense but I still enjoy watching him and would not mind him in the B&G. Smith wrecked Ohio and put up 5 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, 2 sacks, a FF, and recovered 2 fumbles in this game. Duke Shelley, CBSchool: Kansas State | Conference: BIG 12College Experience: Senior | Age: 22Height / Weight: 5-9 / 180 lbsShelley is small, he will have to exclusively be a slot corner if he makes it to the NFL but boy does he have Oklahoma State’s number. Shelley has played OKST two other times in his career and in each contest he picked off a pass. In this contest he picked two passes. Shelley needs work technically but he is tough and annoying and will not give up on a pass. I love those types of corners. He is one of those young corners that you take a shot on during the last day of the draft to see if they stick and if they can grow further in the league. Shelley has half a season to build resume. He’s in good shape. Keep an eye out on him in BIG 12 play he is one of K-State’s best defenders. He officially finished this game with 6 tackles, 2 INTs, and a pass defended. Quinnen Williams, DLSchool: Alabama | Conference: SECCollege Experience: RS Sophomore | Age: 21?Height / Weight: 6-4 / 289 lbsI almost didn’t include Williams purely because I didn’t realize he was a RS Sophomore and this draft eligible. I wrote about his teammate Isaiah Buggs a few weeks back. Buggs may show up more on the stat sheet but Williams shows up more on any given play. He is another Bama boy and he is as strong as an ox, has no problem collapsing the pocket and creating pressure. How does Saban keep finding these guys? He can also play the run. I’m up for adding another one of these guys to the team. If Williams decides to declare he should be among the first 10 DL taken this year if he keeps up his level of play. He pressured Drew Lock all afternoon and finished the contest with 7 tackles, 2 TFLs, and a sack. Custom Tennessee Titans Jerseys

Odell Beckham Jr. Youth Odell Beckham Jr Jersey , who has missed the last two games with a quad injury, did not practice Wednesday for the New York Giants. Despite being out of the playoff race with two games to go, coach Pat Shurmur said the team is not yet ready to shut Beckham down for the season.Shurmur said Beckham “feels better than he did last week.”Why are the Giants continuing to hope they can get Beckham on the field despite the final two games not meaning anything in terms of the standings?“At this point, I think it’s a player’s responsibility to do everything they can to get on the field and get back into games,” Shurmur said. “We’re coaches and players, and we play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, so it’s important that we do everything we can to show up.”Other injuriesLinebacker Alec Ogletree (concussion), safety Michael Thomas (personal), wide receiver Russell Shepard (ankle) and center Spencer pulley (quad) did not practice. Defensive lineman Kerry Wynn (thumb) was limited.Week 16 Injury ReportPlayerPositionInjuryWednesdayThursdayFridayGame StatusPlayerPositionInjuryWednesdayThursdayFridayGame StatusStats with Pat: Same old, same old for Giants in season opener Welcome to the inaugural “Stats with Pat Color Rush Patrick Omameh Jersey ,” a weekly feature in which I’m going to look at the stats from the previous week’s Giants game and break those down into tiny little details in which I discuss the what’s behind the numbers and their impact on the team going forward. For this week’s column, I’m have three concerning stats and trends that carried over from last year to Week 1. At the end of each column, I’ll give you a few miscellaneous stats of interest. As always, feedback is welcomed; if you have questions about anything or are interested in a particular stat, drop me a line in the comments section or hit me up on Twitter @Patricia_Traina.Enjoy!Evan Engram’s dropsiesFor as good as he was last season, tight end Evan Engram recorded 11 dropped passes to his name which, according to Pro Football Focus, led all NFL tight ends (and it wasn’t even close). If that wasn’t bad enough, Engram was the intended target on four of the interceptions thrown last season by Giants quarterbacks. So after working on improving his receiving skills all offseason and summer to fix that, what happened?Engram Color Rush Nate Solder Jersey , who finished with two catches out of five pass targets goes out and drops another pass to start off the 2018 campaign. And were it not for two penalties that nullified a couple of his other pass targets, including an iffy offensive pass interference called against the tight end, Engram very narrowly avoided being charged with two other dropped passes. This issue with Engram appears to have followed him from his college days. In Engram’s 2016 NFL Draft profile, Lance Zierlein noted of Engram that he “allows defender to work through him and disrupt the catch” and that he “has had issues with drops and contested catches.” Just based off the film, it appears that Engram might take his eye off the ball just a split second, failing to look it all the way in. This unfortunately is a common mistake a lot of young receivers make—they think they have the ball and begin to look for escape routes before ensuring that they do indeed have the ball. The only way to correct this is to go against live competition, which Engram does in practice. He needs to be a little more patient out there and realize that a gain of 5 yards is just as good as a longer gain if it means moving the chains. Third downThe Giants picked up where they left off last year in third down conversions, converting just 31 percent of their attempts (4-of-13) last week.Last season, the Giants managed to convert just 74 out of 227 third down attempts (32.5 percent). Of their 227 third-down attempts, 157 were of the long yardage (5 or more yards) variety. And of those 157 third-and-long situations Youth Evan Engram Jersey , they converted just 32 (20.3 percent). The reasons for the Giants third and long issues, at least this week, are partially because of penalties (see their opening drive in which Ereck Flowers committed two penalties on successive plays) and partially due to there being a play for zero or negative yardage preceding the third-and-long.The bottom line is the Giants need to be crisper on offense as right now this unit has yet to prove they’re good enough to overcome the mistakes they’re making—mistakes that you can argue go back to the preseason when the first=team offense had its share of struggles scoring as well.Drive-stalling PenaltiesSpeaking of struggling to score, is there anything worse than watching your team’s offense incur a drive-stalling penalty? Probably not if you consider these annoying yellow flags not just set a team back in terms of yards, they also disrupt the flow of the offense. What’s more, most of the times the penalties that a team incurs come down to a breakdown in a player’s fundamentals. For example, offensive holding is usually a result of a player whose opponent has defeated him literally grabbing on for dear life. The player’s hands somehow ride outside the opponents frame work, often a look that resembles a bear hug, and the players hope that the officials either don’t see it or decide it’s not blatant enough to warrant throwing a flag.A good example of that is Ereck Flowers. According to NFLPenalties.com., Flowers was tied for third last year in offensive holding penalties (5). But more on Flowers in a moment. In 2017 Youth Will Hernandez Jersey , the Giants were flagged 107 times; of those, 32 penalties resulted in a stalled scoring drive (29.9 percent). That might not sound like a lot but given that the Giants struggled to score points last year, any drive-killing penalty is one too many. This year, the Giants picked up where they left off. They were called for six penalties Sunday. Out of those six, five were called against members of the offense and all five of those penalties contributed to stalling a drive. On the two penalties by Flowers, the Giants were lucky that the Jaguars weren’t awarded a safety given how close to the Giants end zone the penalties occurred. This and thatQuarterback Eli Manning completed 62.1 percent of his pass attempts Sunday, a mark that is better than his career 60.7 percent completion percentage rate. The bad news is this marks the second year in a row that Manning hasn’t tossed a touchdown pass in the regular-season opener and it is the third straight Week 1 game in which Manning has thrown at least one interception. The Giants are 14-25 in games in which Manning doesn’t throw a touchdown pass.Running Back Saquon Barkley was one of four halfbacks this week to rush for 100+ yards, joining James Conner (Steelers), Todd Burley (Rams), and Isaiah Crowell (Jets). Of the four runners Youth B.J. Hill Jersey , Barkley finished with the second-best yards-after-contact per attempt average(5.28) behind Crowell’s 9.80. Inside linebacker B.J. Goodson had a solid showing in coverage Sunday. In 12 coverage snaps, he allowed just one out of three pass targets to be completed for 11 yards, 14 after the catch for a 45.1 NFL rating, the best of the Giants three inside linebackers (Ray-Ray Armstrong and Alec Ogletree). The Giants averaged 1.3 yards on punt returns Sunday. That makes two regular-season openers in a row that the Giants have failed to average more than 2.0 yards on punt returns. A team’s probably not going to win many games if it can’t win the field position battle, which the Giants failed to do Sunday.

Good morning www.newyorkgiantsteamonline.com , New York Giants fans! Here are your Thursday morning headlines.Pat Shurmur: “Sort of a blueprint” for offseasonCoach Pat Shurmur will have to shift from weekly game prep mode to offseason mode after Sunday. He has an idea how that, and the entire offseason, will work.“We’ll have longer conversations with all the players on Monday to talk about what our expectations are moving forward. I’m ready for that. We’ve done this long enough where there’s sort of a blueprint for that,” Shurmur said. “And there’s certain things I expect to see from the younger players, and then I just expect that they’re going to be professional about what they do with their time and take it from there. “I have a more detailed blueprint of where it’s going to go, I have an idea of what January, February, March needs to look like, but that’s not for anybody to know yet until after we play the next game.”Michael Thomas: Giants have grownIf the Giants defeat the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday they will finish the second half of their season 5-3.“We’ve grown, we’ve learned from a lot of mistakes we’ve had. Guys have had a lot of opportunities and we try to take advantage of it,” safety Michael Thomas said. “Obviously we didn’t convert a lot of those games into wins and been in them, competed New York Giants T-Shirt , but there’s no prize for almost. We got to get better with that, we got to learn how to win, learn how to finish games, but that’s what this last game is for. We’re going to continue to work with each other, continue to go hard, and we’re going to improve, that’s it.”How hard will Cowboys play?Dallas, of course, has already clinched the NFC East title.“We think it’s important to practice well and go play well in a game like this. patients in the oncology unit at the University of Kansas Hospital when he stepped on an escalator that would carry him to the exits.Waiting for him at the bottom was a mob of hospital workers. Some wanted a quick picture. Others were content with an autograph. But most just wanted to glimpse the hottest thing in Kansas City these days San Francisco 49ers Womens Hoodie , the 23-year-old quarterback with the curly Mohawk and easy smile whose record-setting performances have helped the Chiefs to a 3-0 start heading into Monday night's AFC West showdown in Denver."It was an awesome, awesome feeling," Mahomes recalled a few days later, "just to see those people and the kind of passion and love and support that they're showing us."It's a good thing Mahomes prefers takeout to restaurants, and would rather study game film on his birthday than spend a night on the town, because everybody wants a piece of him these days. The Chiefs' communications staff is receiving hundreds of interview requests each week for their first-year starter, one front-office official said. They have had to limit the number Mahomes actually conducts to a handful that he can squeeze into a short time period on Wednesday afternoons. There are requests for community appearances — his event at the hospital was set up by the club's community outreach team. There are requests for sponsorships and endorsements and business deals, not to mention the hundreds of autograph requests that have flooded the team's offices. All for a quarterback with four total starts on his resume."It's pretty cool," Mahomes admits, "just to see the support we have. It's unmatched, Kansas City and the Chiefs Kingdom, the support they have for us. For me to just kind of be in the community and see those people is always a good thing."Mahomes has the right temperament to deal with the demands, though. His father, former big league baseball player Pat Mahomes Womens Customized San Francisco 49ers Jerseys , instilled in him at a young age to take success in stride. It's something that became apparent to Chiefs coach Andy Reid during the draft process."That comes with the territory. If you are going to be a quarterback and do well, you are going to get a lot of attention," Reid said. "What is real is what takes place on the field every week. He is wired the right way to handle that. He's not going to let stuff get in the way."I appreciate him going out and doing those things. Kids and people love him being out there," Reid continued. "That he is willing to do that is part of him and the person he is."That was evident this past summer, when Mahomes showed up just about everywhere in town. He threw out the first pitch at a Royals game, and wore a cutoff jersey of the local minor league team, the T-Bones, when he was part of pre-race festivities for the NASCAR race at Kansas Speedway. But what Reid appreciates more than anything is Mahomes' ability to separate his work off the field from his work on it. There might not be a player on the roster that spends more time at the practice facility than Mahomes, so much so that Reid often has to tell his young star to go home."When he's not there, he is in here," Reid said. "You don't have to tell him to be here, that's not how he rolls. He comes in and you have to get him out."Nor does Mahomes crave the spotlight. When the Chiefs rolled past the 49ers last week, and everyone was talking about the sandlot play in which Mahomes ran about 60 yards before delivering a strike to Chris Conley in the back of the end zone, the quarterback said the key to the play working out was his wide receiver getting open.Never mind that the 49ers had Mahomes corralled for what should have been a loss."He's not trying to be the hero or do all of that. That's not his deal www.49erscheapshops.com ," Reid said. "He is trying to play the position within the offense and do his thing. If things don't work out he moves around and gets it in his guys' hands as fast as he can. He has a pretty good feel for that."Reid hasn't gone out of his way to ensure Mahomes doesn't become bogged down in requests, mostly because it hasn't been necessary. Mahomes is already good at managing his time.Besides, there is little extra time for an NFL quarterback once the season starts."There's still room for a ton of improvement," Mahomes said. "There's still stuff that I might not go to the right read, or we might have a bust in the route running or everything, protection might break down. That just speaks to the guys that we have that can still make plays."As important as they are, though, it's Mahomes that everybody wants to see."It was an awesome, awesome feeling just to see those people and the kind of passion and love and support that they're showing," Mahomes said, reflecting again on his day off spent with hospital patients. "But I feel the same. I come into this locker room and these guys treat me exactly the same as they've treated me since I got here. We have a great room like that and I can just go out there and do my job and it helps to have all the guys I have around me that can make plays." The San Francisco 49ers pass rush finally broke through last week against the Oakland Raiders, taking down Derek Carr seven times. Cassius Marsh led the way with 2.5 sacks, Dekoda Watson had 1.5 sacks in his return from injured reserve, and Solomon Thomas San Francisco 49ers T-Shirt , Ronald Blair, and DeForest Buckner each had a sack. The 49ers defense dominated the game primarily due to the considerable pass rush.Week 10 brings a matchup with the New York Giants that presents a huge opportunity for the pass rush to find more success. Eli Manning has been sacked a league-high 31 times. Football Outsiders ranks the team’s adjusted sack rate 26th in the league. The Giants rank eighth worst with an 8.9 percent sacks-per-dropback ratio. The 49ers enter this week tied for seventh in the NFL with 24 sacks. They rank eighth in Football Outsiders adjusted sack rate statistic. They ranked fairly well even before their seven sack performance, but they jumped with that effort. Can they build on it against the Giants? I asked Big Blue View editor Ed Valentine his thoughts on the Giants pass protection. At times it seems like Eli Manning works his way into sacks, but analytics suggest the Giants offensive line is pretty bad as well. Pro Football Focus tracks time in pocket stats, and Manning has the 11th shortest average time to throw, the seventh fastest time to getting sacked, and eighth shortest average time in the pocket.I asked Ed what explains Manning leading the NFL in sacks. The Giants are a mess right now, but their passing attack remains dangerous with Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard regular threats on the outside and Saquon Barkley among the best pass-catching running backs in the league. OBJ and Shepard will be a particularly difficult task for the 49ers secondary, and so the key will be getting consistent pressure on Manning. If the pass rush can perform similarly to what we saw last week against Oakland, the 49ers will be in a strong position to win this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers Hats , there should be no one on the roster more excited about the upcoming matchup than T.J. Watt. While he may only have played against 15 different NFL teams so far in his career, it would be quite a surprise if the Browns were not his favorite opponent. Three of Watt’s best four games as a professional have come against Cleveland and the young linebacker is quickly becoming the Browns’ worst nightmare on defense when they face the Steelers. Not only did his third quarter interception in Week 1 of 2017 kill off a Cleveland scoring drive with the defense backed up inside their own 29-yard line in a game Pittsburgh won by three. His blocked field goal in overtime in Week 1 of this year prevented the Browns from winning their first home opener in 14 seasons.Based on the stats he has recorded in three games against them, his numbers would project to a 32 sack season with 133 tackles and five interceptions. Almost half of Watt’s career sack total of 13 has come versus Cleveland and they are still the only team he has intercepted through 21 NFL games so far. Developing a reputation as the man who repeatedly ends the Browns’ chances of winning is a great one to have and the more sorrow he can bring to Cleveland the better.Far from the finished product as a pass rusher, it would be fair to say that Watt is still learning his craft, but the continued improvement is clear to see. Given how well he is playing against the Browns already Pittsburgh Steelers Hoodie , it can only be imagined how much he will be terrorizing them in the years to come. 1st Quarter In-Game UpdateAfter the first quarter, the Steelers had yet to even get a first down on offense, and the Browns’ offense continued to move the ball with ease against the Pittsburgh defense, but again were held to another field goal attempt. This time, Joseph’s 41-yard attempt was wide right Youth Customized Pittsburgh Steelers Jerseys , and the Steelers dodged a major bullet early in the second quarter. When things looked awful, Ben Roethlisberger found Antonio Brown for the team’s first first down of the game, and the mojo continued between the two after Roethlisberger found Brown for a 43-yard touchdown catch. Chris Boswell nailed the point-after, giving the Steelers a 7-6 lead. The Browns’ next drive looked promising, again www.steelersfootballauthentics.com , but after cross midfield Mayfield threw his first interception, as Joe Haden snagged his first pick of the 2018 season. The Steelers took the football in hopes of adding to their lead before halftime, and were able to move the ball down to the one-yard line with just 10 seconds left in the game without any more timeouts left. On the 1st-and-goal play, Roethlisberger threw a quick hitting pass to Brown for the touchdown. The Boswell point-after made the score 14-6 heading into halftime, and the Steelers to receive the ball to start the third quarter. Custom Houston Texans Jerseys
