Bloomington, IN (SportsNetwork. Alex Iwobi Jersey .com) - Yogi Ferrell made four free throws in the final minute to help Indiana earn a 69-66 victory over 22nd-ranked Ohio State on Saturday at Assembly Hall. Ohio State trailed the entire second half, but had possession down 65-62 after an Indiana shot-clock violation. Marc Loving air-balled a 3-point try and Sam Thompson corralled the rebound under the basket. He was fouled while making a layup with 32.1 seconds to play, but missed the free throw. Ferrell sank two from the line with 21.9 seconds left to extend the Indiana edge to three and DAngelo Russell made two free throws with 8.7 seconds remaining to again pull Ohio State within a point. The Hoosiers got the ball in to Ferrell and the Big Tens best free throw shooter rattled two home for a three-point advantage before Russells long three drew iron as time expired. Ferrell, despite a 1-for-8 effort from the field, finished with 10 points for the Hoosiers (12-4, 2-1 Big Ten), who played their conference home opener after a win at Nebraska and a 20-point loss at Michigan State to open the Big Ten ledger. Freshman James Blackmon Jr. led Indiana with 18 points and Troy Williams contributed 15 with 12 rebounds. Shannon Scott scored 16 and Russell added 13 for the Buckeyes (13-4, 2-2), who had beaten Minnesota and Illinois after dropping their conference opener against Iowa. Thompson and JaeSean Tate each netted 12 points in defeat. Ohio State raced out to a 9-2 lead and held a 13-9 advantage after a 3-pointer by Scott, but Indiana followed with a 17-2 run. Ferrells only made field goal of the game, a triple, gave the Hoosiers a 17-15 lead and a pair of free throws by Hanner Mosquera-Perea capped the burst for a 26-15 cushion with 6:15 left in the first half. The Buckeyes trimmed the deficit to six at the break and pulled within 34-31 early in the second half before Blackmon scored five straight for an eight- point Indiana margin. Ohio State again rallied and cut it to 51-48 with 8 1/2 minutes remaining after Russell followed a Scott jumper with a steal and a dunk. A Thompson layup three minutes later made it a two-point game, but Indiana responded with eight straight to again pull away. Blackmon scored five of those points, first stemming the Ohio State momentum with a jumper and ending the spurt with a three-point play to give the Hoosiers a 61-51 advantage with 3 1/2 minutes to play. Back came Ohio State, as Thompson scored five in a 9-2 run to pull the Buckeyes within 63-60. Game Notes Loving, the Big Tens top 3-point shooter entering the game at 54.5 percent, missed each of his five attempts from beyond the arc and scored just seven points in defeat ... The Buckeyes made just 3-of-21 from 3-point range ... The Hoosiers entered the contest averaging 82.9 points per game, but have not scored more than 70 in any of their three Big Ten games ... Ohio State returns home to welcome Michigan on Tuesday. Emiliano Martinez Jersey . The last team in the NBA that will have any sympathy for the Thunder is the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are showing signs of putting everything together after two years of devastating injuries. Kieran Gibbs Jersey . The Oilers jumped into the free agent market early by signing defencemen Keith Aulie (six-foot-six, 228 pounds) and Mark Fayne (6-3, 210 pounds) and left-winger Benoit Pouliot (6-3, 197-pounds). Then the turnovers went in the Patriots direction. New England scored touchdowns on three of the four that Philadelphia committed, and the Patriots beat the Eagles 42-35 in Bradys preseason debut Friday night. "We always try to aggressively attack the ball," New England coach Bill Belichick said. "Those can be game-changing plays so when you get a chance to make them, you need to make them." All six quarterbacks did a good job with their opportunities, a sign that both teams have depth at that position. Every one of them who played -- Brady, rookie Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Mallett for the Patriots (1-1) and Nick Foles, Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley for the Eagles (0-2) each threw at least one touchdown pass. The Eagles rarely had the ball early. And when they got it later, they kept giving it away. "I think the big thing in this game is we just cant turn over the ball and we cant shoot ourselves in the foot," Foles said. New England had two offensive series before the Eagles had even one since the Patriots first ended with Williams 77-yard interception return. Williams hurt his hamstring on the play and didnt return. Brady threw the ball to Steve Maneri, but the tight end who had signed five days earlier didnt turn around. "Its just miscommunication," Brady said. "Im glad it happens in the preseason." The Patriots tied it on their next possession on a 15-yard touchdown pass to Kenbrell Thompkins, ending Bradys night after completing 8 of 10 passes for 81 yards in two series. Then Philadelphias turnovers began. Ifeanyi Momah lost a fumble after catching Foles pass on their first offensive play. Sanchez threw an interception on his second play of the third quarter and Momah lost another fumble midway through the third quarter after a reception on Barkleys first play. And on the second play of Barkleys next series, his pass was picked off by Nate Ebner. Add Alex Henerys missed 47-yard field-goal attempt and a bunch of penalties and coach Chip Kelly has many mistakes to point out after a sloppy performance that followed three days of joint praactices with the Patriots. Francis Coquelin Jersey. Reviewing the penalties will keep both coaches busy. The Patriots committed 11 for 83 yards and the Eagles were flagged for 10 for 86 yards. At least the officials had warned the teams in meetings during the week that there would be an emphasis on penalizing contact on receivers. "Youre just handing people first downs," Kelly said. "We better figure it out. And, as I said earlier, whichever team ends up being the most disciplined team from penalties standpoint (is) going to be at a big advantage in this league. Its a challenge to everybody." The Patriots showed a balanced offence -- 250 yards rushing, 245 passing. "We had the momentum all game," said Mallett, competing with Garoppolo for the No. 2 job. Garoppolo picked right up after Brady left, throwing scoring passes on his first two series, a 15-yarder to James Develin and a 4-yarder to Brandon LaFell for a 21-7 lead. The pass to LaFell was New Englands 35th offensive play. Philadelphia had just six at the time. The Eagles tied it at 21 at halftime with two scoring passes in the last four minutes, a 6-yarder from Foles to Zach Ertz and a 6-yarder from Sanchez to Arrelious Benn. The score was tied 28-28 before touchdowns by two free agents, a 17-yard catch by Brian Tyms from Mallett and a 10-yard run by Roy Finch that gave the Patriots a 42-28 lead with 5:15 left in the third quarter. Barkleys 27-yard scoring pass to Henry Josey cut the lead to seven points on the last play of the third quarter. The Eagles drove to the Patriots 1-yard line, but were stopped on fourth down with 4:39 to go. "We still have some things to get better at," Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans said, "but thats what preseason is for." NOTES: Every quarterback put up solid numbers. Garoppolo was 6 of 12 for 72 yards and two touchdowns and Mallett completed 7 of 11 for 92 yards and a touchdown while playing the entire second half. For the Eagles, Foles was 8 for 10 for 81 yards and one touchdown, Sanchez was 11 for 12 for 117 yards and two touchdowns and Barkley was 9 for 12 for 132 yards and one touchdown. ... The Eagles top two receivers missed the game, Riley Cooper with a foot injury and Jeremy Maclin with a hamstring injury.
